How long do y'all think this heat wave will go on?

It was 105 yesterday afternoon. Had an attack yesterday at the back door
Victim-me
Predators-dog, 2 cats, 6 chickens-ALL WORKING TOGETHER
Scenario- I opened the back door and was attacked. The chickens and cats first. No organization, no one was polite, it was everyman for himself. They stormed the door getting in, last was the dog-110 lbs of wet dog-he'd been trying to cool off in the tank-and gave up.
Result - me flat on my back in the doorway with dog on my chest, cat on chair, chicken next to cat on chair. 2 chickens under bed, 1 in bathroom getting drink from toilet.
No one near door except Mr and wet dog.
It was total chaos for awhile.
Everyone's outside now, it took some time to chase chickens out of the house. They did manage to cool down while I was picking myself up off floor, changing clothes etc....found an egg in the closet hmmmmm....

Wow. We are at 105 too, down from 106 at 4pm. Rare for us to have a hotter temp than y'all. Our index is only 105, though. Our humidity level has been under 30% all afternoon.

Yeah, that's for sure but sometimes Central and North Texas are hotter than we are here!

101 now with temp. humidity index of 106. We're down from 105 yesterday (and 106 Friday). -lived in Texas my whole life, but the older I get the more I don't care for the persistent heat from May through mid-October. -ready to retire to a cooler climate.

Heat index peaked at 119° with the brief 111° high. Most of the day has been between 110 and 113
