Queensland graziers are enduring wet season heat to again rebuild after heavy floods in the state's north west, but this time it is costing more.

A total fire ban is in place across much of the state, as authorities forecast hot temperatures and an extreme fire danger.

More than a week after deadly storms tore through Victoria, knocking out power to more than half a million customers, the lights are still out in some hard-hit areas of the state.
