My roommate killed a black widow in our hallway two days ago. I shudder to think how many there might be in the house. 🫣

Last year we found a huntsman spider (aka giant crab spider) in a corner of the living room. They have a 6 inch leg span and they are. so. FAST.
I get them inside all the time after a good westerly. They always seem to travel in pairs. I use the vacuum to grab them. One of my daughter's friends shocked her classmates and teacher by catching one in her hands lol. My daughter said all the boys called her a freak after that day, which she quite liked.

Sunday 16th of June 9.59a.m. Cold & clear. 22.2 / 27.8kph WSW, Hg 45%, 12C / 53.6F top of 16C / 61F, Sunny. Marine wind warning. Hazardous surf. Sheep graziers alert. Coastal hazrad warning.

Moon is 66.6%

VERY HEAVY SURF, which may lead to localised damage and coastal erosion, is likely to develop during Sunday evening on the Illawarra, extending northward past Sydney overnight to waters south of Seal Rocks during Monday morning. Waves exceeding 5 metres in the surf zone are likely to produce significant beach erosion for south-facing coastlines. Conditions are expected to ease from the south during Monday night into Tuesday morning.

Beach conditions in these areas could be dangerous and people should stay well away from the surf and surf exposed areas. Locations which may be affected include Newcastle, Sydney, Wollongong, Port Kembla and Kiama.

I've seen this on the Gulf down where Sarasota and Bradenton are. I was a teen playing on the piers all hours of the night. Some nights a 13 year old kid was out playing and watching the sparkles in the water all by his self a 3am. No worries back in the 50's.

I've not seen it as an adult ever. It's gone.
Still see it every now and then here in Corpus Christi. Drag a landing net through the water and see the glow you’re talking about.
