What's the temperature where you are???

I know the yuccas handle the cold but I am surprised with the Cactus - I always associated those with hot dry conditions.

Depending on the species they can handle temps below freezing.
They reduce or stop their water intake and seal off their water outlets. They can also form a protective shell on the inside to protect themselves from the cold temps. Clever cacti. 🧐 🌵

F150, it’s an eco-boost good on fuel unless hauling the horse trailer.

Its 2019 but still doing well, needed it when I worked on the pipelines, and of course handy with the horses, and winter snow drifts 😉

But today he met his match, my Vet’s place is drifted in and I got stuck in a 3’ high, 10’ wide drift, took a bit of finagling to wiggle my way out of the snow, and around the garage. Couldn’t get to tje barn to feed the cat, and really didn’t want to trudge through those hip deep drifts.

I’ll get buddy across the road to push the snow with his skidster so I can get in there - kitty will be fine, I loaded him up on Tuesday with food and water.

The drifts have froze over and become fairly solid from blowing around, no fluffy white stuff just crusty miserable snow.

Currently it is -3C with a forecasted low of -5C overnight.

No snow predicted, so they say….

Crew cab and everything. 😍 Man, that is like my dream truck. Blue is even my favorite color!

My next vehicle purchase will likely be a 4Runner but I sure would love an F150 some day. I don't need to pull a trailer but it would be great for taking the dogs camping, bringing home supplies from Home Depot, moving, getting a Christmas tree, taking stuff to the dump... lots of uses.

Hip deep drifts! Whew. That's a lotta snow.

73% humidity... ahhh... 😊
