What's the temperature where you are???

When my sons were in high school over 10 years ago
They worked at the YMCA as lifeguards
And the rule was ‘ the pool closed for 30 minutes when they heard thunder ‘
Yes - we have a 30/30 rule here for thunderstorms

If you hear thunder within 30 seconds or less of lightning, you need to seek shelter and stay there until at least 30 minutes after the last clap of thunder.

We also have lightning detection up here so we can log into the weather.gc.ca site and see where lighting is, our crews work outside so they needed to be safe.

I live near (1km) a research facility for Atmospheric Research and Experimentation. They have the radar centre there - they have all kinds of really neat gigity-gadgets there, LIDAR, and new Radar tower (I call it the big soccer ball). Once about 25 yrs ago they even had a tornado go through their location - hope they got good readings from that one! what would those odds be?!

I am a bit of a weather geek :)

Broken record here - snow again....

View attachment 4050618

Really hate snow. Well I must go clear off the Gazebo and shed roofs before this next lot arrives. The heck with the walkways I am not gonna shovel them anymore! (I'll be regretting that when the snow is over my boots again hahahaha)
That freezing drizzle sounds interesting! :(
