Still calling for snow squalls here and up to 20cm - unless the wind swaps around a bit more to the NNW though we won’t get snow.

Snow squall is breaking down that top one I circled sat over my DS and DN all last night and today - they have over 2’ of snow hahaha - they can keep it!

That bottom squall sat over town all last night and dropped over a foot, my 20min drive in took a bit longer this morning.

And my place had nothing! So it goes with lake effect snow squalls, it’s all dependent on the wind direction. A bit more of a NNW wind and I would have been buried in snow.

Those were big squall lines!

That one stretched all the way across Lake Ontario to Mass.!

Hottest spring on record for Australia's east coast as dangerous weekend storms return

By ABC meteorologist Tom Saunders

An ongoing heatwave along Australia's eastern seaboard will fuel further extreme weather this weekend, and its longevity is now breaking long-standing records.

Both Sydney and Brisbane are on track for their hottest-ever springs, with temperatures comfortably above all previous years dating back to the 1800s.

The heat will also combine with high humidity to spark another round of severe thunderstorms across Queensland and north-east New South Wales, while further south, a dry heat this weekend has triggered ongoing fire weather warnings from Sydney and the Hunter to the Central West.

But while the east is sweating, the south will shiver, and the first day of summer will even bring snow to the ranges.

--- and no one is complaining given all the Summer rain we've had in recent years. Christmas here is a big outdoor event spent at the beach or parkland with a beer and a BBQ.
