So sorry OZ Chic. We are in the midst of an "interesting" mix of winter nasties. Temp. is fine at 39.9F But winds up to 45 mph are NOT!! My mailbox post is in dire straits, even with all the rocks and boulders I encircled it with.

We are to get a mix of freezing drizzle, sleet(? what's the difference) snow up to 5 inches. through the weekend. Lows of 17F to 21lF.

Oh no sorry about the weather, I am the same, the cold I can take it is wind that makes it unbearable. It cuts right through to the bone.

@ 10.45 am it is 13c (55.4f) thick smoke and there is drizzle....better than nothing

41F Cloudy. It was unexpectedly nice today considering how wet it’s been. I beat feet to the feed store and got straw for my chickens. My son was here so he carried it up the hill for me. They say it’s going to rain tomorrow then get cold and turn to snow so at least my chickens have nice clean straw to mess around in.

So after sweltering at 40c (104f) only a few days ago...we are currently siting on..wait for it....14.5c (57.2f) @ 2 pm, so since my last update, about 3 hours ago, the temperature has gone up 1.5c.

we are headed for 21c (69.8f) dont think we are gonna get there.

BUT this odd cool summer day has given me a chance to clean all the fans/air con filters....first time they have been turned off in months, OMG fair dinkum they were disgusting coated with ash and dust.

Even with the house closed up, the fans still were coated.

These cooler temps should help give the firies an upper hand..fingers crossed this will all be over soon

I accidentally(?) took a nap. All the lights are on all over the house, food and drink on the table untouched(as usual) and I discovered it is now 28.F and more snow on the ground.

It is also now Sunday and 12:19AM. Where does time go! I think I am in the Bermuda
Triangle.

Thank you but, that's the point. I keep having even more naps than usual and even longer times. I'm turning into Reva van Winkle. The new mattress must be a demon out to get me off of BYC.

When I was on earlier today could not believe how many threads I have been missing, over days. Worst case of awol-ness I have ever had.
