Our thermometer in the shade read 44°C (111.2F) today. Not much you can do in this!

Today the temp is much lower, 30° C (86°F), and a light breeze. We're a couple of hours' drive North of Bordeaux, but could smell and see hazy firesmoke, this morning.

Yes. We're in Denton County, and saw this. A bit of a breeze was welcome yesterday evening, but worrisome due to the drought/fire risk.

90 degrees at 9:32 AM. The dog was walked, chickens had their free range adventure, and garden (what's still producing) was harvested before 8:00 AM. Now it's time to cocoon indoors for the rest of the day....
