About 85 and sunny, but the clouds are gathering in the west, so more rain's coming - Thank Goodness!
Last night's storm was amazing. Temps dropped from 87 to 67 in less than 15 minutes. We thought we were going to get a real humdinger, but it was a calm, low-rumble storm. Lots of slow, quiet thunder; no jagged lightning, just a flashing, softly lit sky, At one point, we could see stars and fireflies through the lightning. It was absolutely breathtaking. I wish I'd had the presence of mind to film it, but I was too mesmerized just watching the sky unfold. I did, however, call DS away from his computer to watch with me ... and wonder of wonders ... he CAME! I know it sounds cliché to say that it was magical, but it was. I'm sure those few moments will stay with me for a very long time.

I sure hope this mess breaks for you soon. I'm further north, along the storm line where the dome breaks. We've got somewhat higher temps than normal, but major humidity and a lot of rain. The precipitation is a nice relief after a Spring with nearly a foot less rain than we usually get. I'll take it ... and wish I could send some of the cooling stuff your way, too.

WOW!!!! I haven't seen a firefly since I was a kid. They're gone from this area, completely gone.
