What's the temperature where you are???

Friday 22nd December 9a.m. sunny and cool. Wind is Gentle 14.8 / 20.4kph SSW, Hg is 42%, Temp is 20c /68f heading for 21c / 70f

Moon is 79%

The summer solstice falls between December 21 and 23 in the Southern Hemisphere each year.

This year, it's Friday, December 22.

But while we usually think of solstice as referring to a whole day, there's actually a specific moment when the Southern Hemisphere is at its closest tilt towards the Sun.

This year, that exact moment will be 4:50pm AEST.

It gets really hot in Australian weather and humid. I have been worried when over 40 degrees Celsius but they all survived ok. I made frozen water bricks for the hens and nursery pullets.

Hottest has been 49 in summer s 🌞 and as I don’t have air conditioning, I know exactly how the hens feel! Hot 🥵
Currently a lovely 21 degrees though -Celsius. (Coldest has been minus 2)

Chickens are tougher than we think! 42c is my hottest experience - loved it! But the beach was littered with dead butterflies having drowned finding salt. Humidity is the worst; I could never live in QLD.
