Yup, that’s what I’m living in right now. We’re under an excessive heat warning until this evening, along with a red flag fire warning. We’re surviving, but I’m so glad this is supposed to be the last insane day. Temps go down to 100° tomorrow. Much cooler 🤪

It’s 89° right now and climbing. I got up at five to run and work in the garden before the heat started up.
It sure does sound intense. Take care! I'm a little envious given the polar air temp drop forecasts rolling in here for next week 🥶

Thursday 11th of July 11.38a.m. Mostly sunny and cold. 11.1 / 11.1kph NE, Hg 46%, 15.3C / 59.5F top of 18C / 64F. Mostly sunny.

Moon is 24.2%

Millions of Aussies are set to shiver through a prolonged cold snap, with an Antarctic polar blast expected to send temperatures plummeting this weekend.

A cold front will sweep across large swathes of Australia’s southeast, including Victoria, parts of SA, southern NSW and the ACT, before making its way to Queensland.

“We will see a long period of southerly winds coming up from the south of the country,” BoM's Dean Narramore said.

“They will make it up into Queensland this weekend and more so into early next week. It could even get up into northern Queensland as well.

“So we are likely to see temperatures drop a couple of degrees on the weekend but up to 5C to 8C by early and mid-next week.

“A long period of cold, southerly winds across the eastern part of the country.”

Narramore said Queenslanders would likely suffer through the cold temperatures, although those living in the southern states would endure far worse.

“It’s always hard when it’s not 20C / 68f and sunny,” he said.

“Down south it’s single figures. They still have the sunshine hanging around, but the cold snap will start on the weekend and could continue for much of next week.

“We will see temperatures really cool down.

“Probably only getting 10C or 11C / 51.8f for Hobart over the week. Melbourne looking at a prolonged period of 10C or 11C for much of next week.” 😒

I hope moulting Betty frizzle gets her frizzles back a bit more before next week.
