What's the temperature where you are???

I don't know if it's because of the extended 100+ temps or what but power grid is being taxed far longer than it usually is this time of year and we've been having weird brown outs.

Power doesn't go out completely but it's like there's a significant drop in voltage. Lights pale then flicker on and off. The fridge light stays on but the compressor doesn't. The floor fans stay on but they only operate at about 1/4 of their normal speed. Things like that.

When it happens at night you can see lights going on and off all up and down the street, like the ending of the Twilight Zone episode, "The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street." Creepy.
Are you on APS or something else?

We are still under a cold air mass, which makes the 26C day feel much cooler. 13C o'nite and the odd late nite or early shower is really helping settle the new plantings in. The weather mob forecasts another wet summer .. dreading that idea. A good omen was the circus not getting washed out for the first time in 4yrs!
Hasn’t been above 14C here all week during the day, overnight temps around 5c. Yesterday morning it was only +3C same right now - brrrr!

I closed up the barn last night for my poor chookies who have decided now is a great time to moult!

04:25hrs and it’s 3C

That’s bad for electronics. If you can unplug your TV etc I would do so, also the stove, and anything else that has standby power. Not much you can do with the fridge.

We sometimes get that n the winter during storms. Gosh the weather is nuts everywhere.

Hoping and praying for those in Florida, hope everyone was able to move to safety.
