A warm sunny day. The chickens were again refusing to enter the coop this evening. Even the lure of bread took about 15mins to entice them. The bedding is the same - pine shavings - it's just a brighter colour. :rant Bird brains!

It's hottest at the beach - port kembla harbour

Interesting that your chickens do not want to go into the coop. Do you know why? Could it be that it is too hot? Most of my chickens prefer to sleep coop's roof. Their coop is inside an enclosure. I still trying to find out why.

Let me tell you what the weather likes over here today:
It is pouring rain, and it has been raining since yesterday.
It has been raining cats and dogs and everything else in between.
The ground is soaked, and the chicken runs are muddy.
Just last week I got 3 bags of chicken feed 20kg per bag, this humidity will start seeing those feed, and my bread flours go bad.
We are NOT happy!

It's because their new bedding is a really light colour and they're used to the darker straw colour that had been in the coop over winter, so it was quite earthy-looking by the time I replaced it. I added the whole bale as well, so it's also deeper than they're used to. Heading for 32C here today!

They must be thinking...what all these??? :)
32C is hot. If you can hear the loud pouring sound of rain over here you will know how I feel. Having chickens and endless rain is a recipe for ill health and more ill health. For me, I withered away without sunshine.
It is 4:30am here, I am at this time already in my backyard letting my feathery kids out, but it is still dark outside and heavy rain is going non stop. Flash flooding in progress.
