They have mosquitoes? What exactly is Polar vortex? I am quoting wikipedia
"polar vortex, is a large region of cold, rotating air; polar vortices encircle both of Earth's polar regions"
Is that a bit too cold for mosquitoes?

The polar vortex that hit us two winters ago nailed almost the whole United States with low temps they'd never seen before. Up here in WI, we can get a week or two of -30 to -40F, but that was the highs during that, for about nearly a week if I recall.

Here, the mosquitoes hibernate for the winter, so it wouldn't do a thing.
