What's the temperature where you are???

Salt water. We've had a really low tide for some weeks now, so I've been walking along the shoreline, seeing areas I've not seen before. usually the stormwater channels are deep enough to cover my shoes. At one point the dogs started after something and there was a loud splash. I figured it was a mullet, but then I saw a big blue tongue lizard swimming across the stormwater. He was a very good size. I'm glad the dogs didn't catch him!
Is there a reason for the low tides?

I love the ocean ♥️

Me, too! The ocean has been my lifelong best friend. I was born less than a mile from the Pacific. It is my happy place. 😊

And now you’re a desert creature 😊

Being a Newfoundlander the ocean is our lifeblood; but things change some for the better, some not. Since the Cod moratorium in the early 1990s there is no cod fishing. It remains as such to this day. A species almost sent to extinction.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Col...ent announced, the cod fishery remained closed.

Oh no! I'm in the desert but I'm not of the desert. Wherever I live, I will always and forever be a beach girl. My coastal northern European ancestry demands it. Also, I was born in a town the Beach Boys sing about in "Surfin' USA." 😎

I will be back on a coast in a few years. I don't know which coast, yet. I'm saving money and watching the markets.

That's one of the reasons I like this thread: I get to read about first-hand experiences from people living on different coasts!
