Ex-Cyclone Alfred's aftershocks have been far-reaching, shaking up communities as far north as Queensland's Fraser Coast, which has seen almost two months of rain in six hours.

Residents in the tourist hotspot woke up to extraordinary flash flooding with some having to be rescued from homes and cars.

The area, about 250 kilometres north of Brisbane, copped a 230-millimetre drenching in just three hours. It usually receives about 130 millimetres a month from December to March.

81° at 3:00 P.M. Phoo. Too hot for me, I had to come inside and drink ice water.

Someone is painting a giant saguaro cactus mural in downtown Tucson. It's nearly complete.

They REALLY like outdoor murals in Tucson, they're all over the city:

Some friends of mine live near the flying whales mural so I see that one a lot.

It was a balmy +5C today and mostly sunny. I was finally able to make some headway with an ice dam on my roof, it has torn my eves trough (some call it a gutter), half off the roof and will require mending once all the snow and ice has melted.

The coming week is supposed to be mostly sunny and above freezing, hoping the snow goes the way of the dinosaur!

If there's one thing I've learned from reading your comments it's that snow is complicated!
