What's the temperature where you are???

Aussie chooks are on strike it seems lol. You are lucky to get the unsold greens! When I was about 11yrs old, it was a common thing to get all the discarded outer leaves from various greens given to us by the box full at the grocers each week. Our bunnies and guinea pigs were always very happy.
Too much rain that is why the chooks on strike😆

People still do that give away unsold and outer leaves green.

I also collect cauliflower outer leaves at Aldi, or any shop I go to. People are happy that they can give away those unsold green as they only throw it out, they feel it is a big waste. The unsold green look terrible, no life left, but when I put them in water for a few hours, they hydrated and all is fresh and yummy again.

Yesterday we got warm sunshine, blue sky with white cloud and wind...oh the mighty wind! The wind dried up the rain soaked soil.

Now it is 5:25am Wednesday morning, it is still dark outside and I can see stars in the sky, that is a clear sky indeed. Those big trees from my neighbours are swinging left and right = very strong wind and I can hear the hounding sound of the wind.
Another beautiful day in my book!

My chickens are very naughty yesterday, they refused to work on the garden bed I assigned them to, but instead they worked on my sweet potato garden bed. Bad chickens!😆

Bad chooks need! No treats in that case.

I am resigned to the fact mine are digging up the grass. It’s very sandy here and grass doesn’t take root too well so when they dig it up it’s hard to re-establish the grass.

I will ask about discarded leaves at Coles next time I'm in. I figured they were using them in their bagged salads 🤭

We are getting rain and wind today.

Lovely day, high of 29C, very hazy with smoke fro wild fires. Made for an interesting sunrise this morning.

June

sixth month, c. 1300, Iun, June, Juin, from Latin Iunius (mensis), probably a contraction of Iunonius, "sacred to Juno" (see Juno). Replaced Old English liðe se ærra "earlier mildness." Spelling variant Iune lingered until 17c.

Juno
Roman goddess of adult women and marriage, sister and wife of Jupiter, mid-14c., probably literally "the young one" (if so, perhaps as goddess of the new moon), from Proto-Italic *juwen- "young," which also is the source of Latin iunior "younger," iuvenis "young man" (see young (adj.)). Noted for her stately beauty and fits of jealous rage. Also the patron of national finances. Usually identified with Greek Hera, but Juno also had qualities of Athena.

Rain and wind! At least that remove the rain water faster..I think.

Don't forget Woolworth as well.

They have 2 shifts a day, the morning and 3pm, if one shift says no, ask the other.

My local Coles here leave the lettuce leaves under the lettuce stand. Sometimes there isn't any, I ask them and they bring it out from their storage room.
