What's the temperature where you are???

I go crazy during the hot months. The confinement and isolation and extreme heat really drive people here insane.

It takes weeks for me to recover when it finally cools off, then I'm running running running to get everything done before it all comes back again. It's utter madness.

People who enjoy living here either 1) love the extreme heat for some unnatural reason, or 2) came from climates where they had six months of snow and mud and see this as an improvement.

They don't know what real paradise is 🥰:

I'd get bored quickly...

Have woken up around 5:55pm and it is still windy out. 32°F while feeling like 19°F with 55% humidity and a 17°F dew point and a W wind of 21mph.

Cloudy and windy this evening becoming partly cloudy after midnight with a low of 24°F and WNW winds at 20-30mph with the occasional gust over 40mph.

Still under that wind advisory till 9pm tonight and now the W winds of 20-30mph have the occasional gusts that could get up to 50-55mph.

I do. Cabin fever. I'm an active, get-things-done kind of person and being confined for months and months and months drives me nuts.

One of the things I miss most during those months is spending time with the flock. I run out and refill waterers and feeders and run back in the house to get away from the horrible heat. I only get to see the chickens via our cameras.

Today I spent all afternoon with them. Cleaned the coop, cleaned and refilled the waterers and feeders, raked the pens, gave them treats, cleaned up the yard. Then I sat in the hammock and just enjoyed watching the chickens live their lives. High today ended up being 76°. Pleasant and peaceful. 😊
