What's the temperature where you are???

Currently 25F, but high winds are tearing up my tarps that I have on top of the runs for each of my coops.
If you can find old netting, you can throw that over top the tarpaulins and weight it down with concrete block (old tires work great…), posts, etc.

The big issue is when the wind gets up under the tarpaulin, lifting it, causing it to flap around. If you can enclose the base of the structure to prevent wimd from getting in you shouldn’t have this issue too much again.

Of course with these crazy high winds sometimes it doesn’t matter what you do….

South central Ontario, Canada

-3C (27F), windchill of -8C (18F)

Wind is slowly swapping around from the SW and is currently W at 16km/hr gusting 34km/hr.

Snow squall and blizzard warnings are out and wind warnings. Calling for up to 25cm of snow with an additional 15cm possible tomorrow.

Calling for near zero visibility tonight, I pity anyone who has to be out tonight, and I am extremely worried for my niece who plows snow. I sure hope they keep them off the roads tonight.

I detest winter 😞

I just posted this elsewhere. We buy uber nice tarps. UV protected as well. These last us years, one for a decade, and you know what Wisconsin puts them through! Covers & All custom cuts them so they fit perfectly. We've bought a few from them and very happy. Another place we bought one from that was good was Hydra Barriers.
Thanks Debbie...will check them out

The one thing I recall with the custom place that drove the cost up was grommet placing. You can have as many as you want at any distance you want, but we soon noticed the price tag going up so figured out a way to reduce them. They have a neat way of showing you what you're racking up lol.

These are much more costly than the TSC ones but yet we didn't think they were that bad. Especially given we have one that's been out there for a decade and still good as new.

Tuesday 30th of December 8.53a.m. Sunny and clear. 11.1 / 14.8kph ENE (yay!, Hg 42%,) 19.9C / 67.8F feels like 18.4C / 65.1F headed for 23C / 73F. Mostly sunny.

QUEENSLAND

The weather bureau is warning of a potential lengthy flood event in north Queensland over the coming days.

A monsoon trough has brought heavy falls to the north-west and Gulf Country, and is intensifying as it drifts south.

Bureau of Meteorology senior forecaster Jonathan How said a tropical low and a monsoon trough lingering over the region was bringing heavy rain.

Queensland Police Minister Dan Purdie said emergency services were prepared.

"For over a week, we've been preparing for this particular event. The biggest concern in north-west Queensland is livestock and fodder," he said.

"Locals know what to do, but if you're travelling in that area and if you're not familiar with the conditions on the road, stay across the warnings and if it's flooded, forget it."

I actually have a tool that I use to place grommets anywhere on a tarp or tent.
