The mountains are covered in clouds right now but we'll be able to see them and their snowy goodness tomorrow.32F. High of 34F.
Very slippery outside today from the freezing rain yesterday and last night.
I saw the news that the next county over had 45 cars in the ditch, one rollover death, but alcohol was involved in that one. Our county didn't have a number, just said "multiple."
Those cacti can handle snow? Amazing!51° at 2:45 P.M. It's been lightly raining here and lightly snowing in the mountains for five hours! Long rains like this are almost unheard of. It's perfect for the desert because there's time for the water to get absorbed instead of causing flooding and runoff. That helps the underground aquifers refill and it means everything is going to green up around here in the next couple of days, too. A steady rain means a little burst of spring will follow. The dogs wore their little raincoats on their walk, so cute. They have raincoats and sweaters. They don't need them often but when they need 'em, they need 'em.
Here's the same area as earlier for comparison. It's not a lot of snow, but it's enough! The mountains are covered in clouds right now but we'll be able to see them and their snowy goodness tomorrow.

49° at 4:30 P.M. A few more hours and that's all we get. Hearing cars drive by on the wet street is such a rare and delightful sound!Definitely a day for staying in and baking cookies. Oatmeal spice cookies are in the oven right now.
