What's the worst gift you ever received?

+1. Practical and kind of exciting if you are a new home owner and want to try and save some cash on electricity bills. Painfully boring if you don't meet those conditions.

Yeah but a bit of a letdown since she was expecting "fruit trees or a hammock".

Personally I would have liked an attic fan as a gift, but I'm weird that way. I like home improvement stuff.

The worst gifts I've gotten are from people who ask me what I want. Don't ask me like it's a chore. If it's such a chore and you can't come up with an idea, don't bother, please.

Ex gave me a new, lavendar purple coat one Christmas. Unfortunately I don't (nor did I then) wear a size 14. It hung on me like a king-sized comforter! His confused response: "my brother tried it on in the store, it fit him!"
