OMG guess one thing on my wish list a professional stainless steel inch skillet. Hubbie bought me a really nice set of pens for anniversary last year but the skillet is not big enough for large needs.

I have two...
my family is too large to buy gifts for everyone, so we tried the Dirty Santa game a couple of years. My nephew's mother-in-law and father-in-law would join our family since they only had one other daughter, and she doesn't speak to them-they don't even know where she lives. (Turns out she caught the dad having an affair, told the mom, now neither parent will acknowledge she exists). One of the gifts they brought was a "Butt Cruncher," one of those stupid As Seen on TV exercise machines that does not work. I was unfortunate enough to get it. It would not even sell in a yard sale-had to donate it to Good Will.

The second was the year my brother, who normally gives great presents, gave everyone a clear glass plate with a Christmas design on it. They still had the 2.99 price sticker. I was a young college student. What did I need a big ol tacky Christmas platter for?? At least that one DID sell in the yard sale! lol

Ditto except it was my completely lacking taste sister that bought them. Her reason...

You wear suits, pantyhose and heels every single day so on the weekends you should be able to hang loose, chill and be comfy. The scrunchies are to keep all that hair out of your way.

Oh and one of my client got me a coffee mug filled with pencils and blule pens that said "Lawyers know all the loopholes" and it had a risque picture on the other side. The same client got upset because I was not using it for my coffee in the office. hahahahaha

OK my brother may read this but, one year my DB and his now ex wife gave me a gift and I opened it up and the box had a picture of a fake brass type wine rack. OK I thought, this is odd I don't drink wine. So I put it in the attic. About five years later I was going to give it to someone and I went in the attic and opened the box and inside was a lovely large ceramic vase they picked up while they were in Mexico. Oops.

I also remember my Black & Decker Christmas. I got a toaster, a vaccum, a scrubber for the tub, etc. I was ready to smash that darned skillet over his head. Gentlemen, if your SO asks for kitchen items and cleaning accessories, buy them, otherwise DONT DO IT!

Last year my 15 year old son bought me a frying pan for Christmas. I thing he was trying to tell me something. I was offended but smiled said thank you and use it all the time.

Not to turn your thread around, but one of the BEST presents I got sounds like the worst.

Current wonderful DH gave me a dishwasher! But, it is all in the meaning. When we were talking about getting married I said I didn't wan to have kids if I didn't have a dishwasher. So we got engaged in October and for Christmas he surprised me with the dishwasher!

I knew it mean he listened to me and my concerns AND he wanted to have children with me and make it easy for me if he could.

Ok for the worse gift ever. Every year my grandmother would buy me a subscription to Christian woman, Yes I consider myself a christian but there was a tramatic event in my life ( 6 years ago) that has made me question things, I finally asked her as I also now that she gifted my very Catholic aunt with this when she was trying (serious here ) to split her and my uncle up. She told me If she pressed hard enough then I would understand and start going back to church. Still has not happened and I always bundle up my magazines and give them to a local charity for there waiting room. She also give my a clock usually from a catalog every year. I wish she would just save her money donate it to a charity of my choice for my present.

Worst from my hubbie the year we got together the late evening of my bday, he brought me flowers over, I thought that was great until my sister called the next morning and I realized he had forgotten and she had reminded him in the nick of time.

Best wedding gift was from my grandmother, she and grandfather raised me, I was married at my aunt's house with held very good memories of my grandfather for me during the ceremony I glance out the window and see the tree that was planted in rememberance of my grandfather and start to tear up. Than we are opening presents and she gacve us a night as a Bed and Breakfast where her and my grandfather spent there 50th wedding anniversary. She knew things were tight and we could not afford a honeynoon but she said everyone needed at least one night.
