Altho some of these are funny,they are sad as well. One year...my " wonderfull" MIL...bought me a gift for my B Day. ( 28 years married to her son) She gave me her old umbrella. I smiled, and thanked her...then she iced the cake and said.....I bought me a new one, so I thought you might want this old one. Yeah,thanks! UGH!

Many years ago, a guy I was dating for 7 months at the time bought me two thermal underwear tops, two bottoms, and a pair of thin, cheapo STEELER'S colored gloves, no doubt from the dollar store (he was a huge Steeler's fan). I dumped him the day after New Year's. But I still wear the tops!

Oh, I just remembered this little scenario that occurred long ago.

My mother and I were at my ex-stepdad's family for Christmas. My ex-aunt received a bread machine from my other ex-aunt, at which she exclaimed, "What kind of idiot would want a bread machine?" Almost in the same breath she turned to my mother and said, "Here, I'm sure you could use this."


Terrible, terrible people. Mom got a bread machine out of the situation, so it wasn't all bad.

I got a griddle from my DH . Atleast i have somehing with a big surface when he comes home late.

The good news is this year my DD who is 20 and my DH clubed together and took me to Morocco for my B day and my DH replaced my tiny glass ring with a beautiful diamond ring... who would have thought two kids so poor and unprepared for parenthood would be together more than 20 years later
