Oh, I know... does she have black skin or an extra toe? (normally chickens have 4...Silkies have 5) These would be pretty good signs

I'd agree... Quail colored. (Possibly some kind of Quail mix...saw a porcelain quail that was very pretty)

Um... some sellers are unscrupulous un It is possible he just wanted to unload some birds if you had THAT many discrepancies

Small back yard operation I found on Craigslist. Don't get me wrong... I LOVE my Australorp, or whatever she is -- thank God she is actually a SHE! -- and my little bantams girls -- whatever they are -- but it would be nice to know what they are. It's going to be heartbreaking for me and my kids to have to return our roos. The whole reason we got older birds (5 weeks) instead of cute little fluffy chicks was because we can't have roosters and we wanted to be sure of the sex. But, I guess when you ask someone how he sexes little chicks and he shows you by flipping one on it's back and says it depends on how the chick holds it's legs (up or straight out)...
