Hi,
I posted a thread the other day stating that I was concerned that my crested duckling had an eye infection. I'm proud to say that I've started spending more time with them, given them dunking water, gotten them comfortable with baths, and started applying Terramycin to her eye. However, upon closer examination, I realized that her "infection" was really just bald red skin around her eye. I noticed that there is a bald raw patch on her wing and lower on her body. Could she have mites, or is it something else? Im starting to grow very worried for her, so I'm hoping you guys will be able to help.
Thanks in advance!

It could. How hot is their brooder? I guess if it is too hot they can rub raw spots on one another. What is the brooder set up like?
How old is she now? How many other ducklings do you have? You don't happen to have her in with chicks do you?

Ive been battling with their heat lamp. Right now it's at 85 (they're two weeks old) but it's been past 110 before (which I guess would be more than hot enough wouldn't it?!) I will attach a pic of the brooder. Their are three other runner ducklings, none of which have patches. There are no chicks. I appreciate your effort to help me solve this problem.

110 is way too hot. I think you could back the temps off even lower than 85. My ducklings were at about 75-80 at two weeks. Are they normally away from the heat lamp like that or is this just because they got the farthest away from you?
