I looked at your chick cage. Be careful with that slide attached to the baby pond. It may look slippery but your duckies could easily escape that way. Maybe put a block of wood or something so they don’t hurt themselves

Yes, I promise as soon as I saw that it was that hot I immediately felt terrible and fixed it. You're right, I had better lower the temp even further as well.110 is way too hot. I think you could back the temps off even lower than 85. My ducklings were at about 75-80 at two weeks. Are they normally away from the heat lamp like that or is this just because they got the farthest away from you?
That's a good idea. I had wondered about that.I looked at your chick cage. Be careful with that slide attached to the baby pond. It may look slippery but your duckies could easily escape that way. Maybe put a block of wood or something so they don’t hurt themselves
Yes, they can. They're all quite tall when standing up and seem to have no problems with it.Your set up looks good as it looks like they can get away from the heat if needed. Can they dip their head into the sour cream container? It is taller than the one I used when my ducklings were younger. I put a piece of wood for them to step up on to get their bill and head in.
Thank you so much for your help. I'm much less anxious now.I would give the terramyicin a try. I am sure others will be by with some advice. Hope the duckking heals quickly!
it would be terrible if a duckling got out and was hurt and lost!!That's a good idea. I had wondered about that.
