Another thing worth mentioning that makes me think it is a clog and not an infection is that she has been this way for 2-3 months with none of my other chickens showing signs of an eye problem. She is healthy as can be. We put her on Tetracycline, Duramycin I think was the name, (the whole flock for that matter, put it in the water) for 2 weeks at first with no improvement. Then we quarantined her for 10+ days while we administered shots to her (Tylan 50) and waited to check for improvement. It drained a little less and the swelling went down slightly, something you wouldn't hardly notice if I wasn't jacking with her twice a day for those 10 days. We also cleaned the eye with saline and rubbed neosporin all over it. Still to no avail.
Guess its to the vet now, really wanted to avoid going and paying alot for a $5 chicken but she is my favorite and would rather cull the rest of the flock then lose her
. Anyone know of a good/trusted chicken vet in the Austin Texas area??
