What's wrong with her vent? "PICS"

I cheer your commitment and determination. This little hen is lucky to have you. One other thing since you noticed the plug of grass. If it doesn't flush out after you get more molasses water into her, try popping a stool softener without stimulants into her beak and that teaspoon of oil I mentioned. If the grass is backed up into her gizzard, the stool softener may help finish cleaning her out.

Prolapse is a big danger. If she continues to strain, it may swell and fall out. That will have to be treated also if it happens. Be sure there are no flies around. Flystrike is a bigger danger than all the rest with all the exposed tissue.

@azygous you are awesome... thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and experience. @LuvBantums youre doing great, and whatever the outcome your hen is lucky to have you for her caretaker. Praying for you both.:fl :hugs
Thank you for your prayers!! I know they worked because she is looking better this morning. Not out of the woods yet, but she is a fighter!!

She is doing much better this morning and her poops are many and solid. Looks to be grass. I use this stuff called GroGel plus that I normally give to the birds I ship to their new owners for hydration and other nutrients. It also has probiotics in so I'm going to give that to her until she can start eating and drinking on her own. Thank you for staying up and giving me your advice for my little baby girl!! I hope you can be there if we may need you again. BTY her vent is not as bad right now. I'm going to keep my eye on that area and if anything gets too concerning...I will take a photo and see if I will need to do anything further. Again thank you bunches!!

Glad to hear you've been able to turn her around. I do believe she was close to packing it in. Did you check her crop this morning for fullness?

If there are further developments, just post to this thread and I'll be notified.
