Try letting her stand but supporting her by holding her sides as she attempts to eat and drink on her own. Do you have any meal worms? Normally they cant resist those. Whatever you know that she like...how about some blueberries.....Im thinking....its hard to know what your baby likes but mine really love whole, frozen corn that has been thawed. That is second only to meal worms.
Oh yes, put some sugar in the water solution. That will give her some extra energy and may entice her to drink.

i have the vit. b in her water now.ive been trying different things, but havent found much shes interested in except a little bit of egg yolk her and there.

Day 2 update:

We were very intensive with the Vit. B all yesterday. She gobbled up everything we fed her - but this morning she seems kinda sick of eggs and yogurt.

We have also made up some Vit. B water and dribble it in her mouth with a needleless syringe.

Her grasp around our fingers continues to be good. She seems to be trying to stand a little taller than before. Which is good. On the other hand it throws off her balance and she has to keep herself from toppling backwards.

She continues to be bright, eyes bright and clear, sociable, gets around well - and wants to get around - when we take her for walks we have to really watch her because she will take off like a shot towards the coop stumbling all the way and we are afraid she's going to snap her neck she's so fast.

I also add my sincere thanks to Lobzi for always checking in to this thread and offering advice.

Day 2 of vitamin B. My little one seems to only eat when I hold her/him up and put the mixture on my finger. I brought in a little bit of grass and it enticed her/him to peck around so I put some tiny broken up B with it. If nothing else it seemed to get her/him excited for a bit. I don't see much water going down but I am hoping with the water that I put in with the mix I feed her/him is enough. Plus I use a bugger syringe to drop water on the beak.

I wish I could fast-forward 3 or 4 days! But what can ya do. Wishing you others out there good luck and don't give up! Keep posting...it's helpful and brings hope to many.

Let her stand to eat if possible. Steady her with your hands. The fact that she wants to get around and be sociable is very positive. I noticed that about Baby too. He was quite alert and used to "sing" constantly as he lay there unable to move on his own. He seemed never to lose the spirit to live. I had to protect him from the others though as he was totally unable to protect himself. Make sure your baby can get away from any bird that may try and "beat up" on her.

Add sugar to the water to make it more tasty. The egg yolk is good as it has vit b on its own. Do add additional vit B to it.

thanks lobzi,i really appreciate all of your advice.ive never had to work so hard to keep a chicken alive..

Sara, I thought Baby wasnt getting enough liquids either and that worried me. I think they can get some liquid in their food. Have you tried giving some whole kernel corn? It has a lot of moisture and can be coated with the crushed B vitamin. That is great if she will eat the grass and intake some vit B at the same time......whatever works! Go for it and continued good luck. Be patient, it does take time but I havent heard anyone claim complete paralysis as Baby had and he took only 5 days. You should notice improvement very very soon.

Do you know, I was with Baby 24 hours a day. I even took him into my bed with me. He had no ability to grip the roost so I had him in a box with a nice, soft baby blanket. It wasnt so great as he would constantly "sing" while awake. If I fell asleep and moved, he would wake up and start "singing." Neither of us got much sleep for about 3 nights. Then I discovered a way to put him in his little box up on the roost with his friends. That was so much better for both of us. Today he roosts again with the others as he is able to grip the roost just fine. It was so cute the first night he rejoined the others on the roost. I put him up on the roost in the box and he hopped out. While on the roost he flexed his little toes as if to show me "see Mama, I can hold on, see my toes work again!"
