What's wrong with their feathers?

Eggs!!!! They finally gave me eggs!!!!!
wee.gif

I got an egg out of my first group of F2s AND an egg out of the second group of F2s!!!! The older group is about 7 months old, so about darn time! The second group is only 5 months, so they're earlier than expected, but no complaints here! It was a little pullet egg, but the other one is full size, probably because they waited so darn long to start laying! I'm so excited!!!!

Now to set up the bachelor pad for the F2 boys and get a silkied boy in with these girls!

Are these F1 x F1? I hatched 11 total out of my F1 pair before the hen died...of course the only silkied F2 I got drowned itself when it was 3 weeks old.

So I really have no idea which of the 7 I have left are carriers and which aren't, but I'm going to throw my silkied roo over the girls and then it won't matter.

Yep, F1 x F1. I don't think I'll keep any of the possible carriers. Fingers crossed for 12 silkied haha!

BTW, one of my F2 girls is black and the silkied roo is blue, so I'm on my way to black fluffies!!!

I can't wait to see black ones!

12 silkied...LOL. With a 25% chance? I don't think I'll hold my breath! I don't plan on using the F2 boys since I don't know if they're carriers or not, but I figured if I crossed the girls out to the silkied roo that came from a different line then survivability should be good, all offspring will be carriers, and I'll have a decent chance of getting silkied ones. Might as well give it a shot!

well it is day 7 on our 13 AFD eggs We candled them and at least four maybe five are clear From our A line eggs (We have six) and the b line (there are 7) has one I think is clear. We are chickens ourselves and put them all back since it is only day seven...will candle again on day 10 and pull as needed but I sure hope we are wrong...(I don't think I am)...but maybe these are just dark and its hard to see into these olive eggs... The air cells are good not wonky or anything...I just think they are clear..

Still waiting on these here to start. My line A smooth laid 1 huge olive egg her 1st day here and that was it. Doesn't look to be developing as of day 3. My line A fluffy laid 2 and that was it - both are developing (for sure fluffy if they make it) and my line B that lays the pretty blue eggs lays 2 days then skips a day and all her eggs on day 3 are developing. PM me a pic of her egg. Hoping the color is good, they hatched out of blue eggs.

Candled my eggs tonight...day 14 for one, day 13 for the others.....think I ended up with 7 from NicoleRm's line, two from my A line and 6 from my B line...hoping they all keep growing and make it!!! Will be locking down in a couple days...can't hardly stand it!
