Hi, its taken me over a week to plough through this entire thread but I finally made it. This is absolutely fascinating and I've learnt something of chicken genetics too which is a bonus.
I think they are amazingly stunning birds and I hope one day they make it to the UK and someone creates a bantam version (as I don't have enough land for large fowl).
How are the adults doing now? Any more unexpected deaths? Or are all those mature birds fine now?
It would be interesting to find out what they died of, has anyone had a post mortem done on the birds that dropped down for no apparent reason?
Anyway, I wish everyone the best of luck with their birds and/or projects and will be following this thread avidly. Its so exciting that so many people are sharing their dedication in making this a breed and saving it from its problems to keep it alive.
