What's wrong with their feathers?

Congrats! What colors did you get?

Hope everyone's hatch is going good!! I've had 2 from NicoleRM's line hatch, 1 from Alicefelldown's A line and 1 from her B line. I have 2 more B line eggs externally pipped. Not sure if anymore of NicoleRM's will hatch, but I'm going to leave the remaining 4 in the bator. I'm sad if they don't, since I had atleast 2 other wigglers on day 21!! But, I guess 6 out of 14 isn't terrible since these eggs seem to be a little unpredictable with hatching!! Can't wait to hear everyone else's progress!!

I had 2 blues and 3 splashes when I left for work last night...anxiously awaiting getting home this morning to see what's going on!! I had 2 more pipped in the bator when I was leaving! Sort of sad, my humidity dropped the night before while I was at work and one chick was sort of stuck...I helped him/her out...and saw another was pipped, so I just filled the water and closed the door. Well, this afternoon I noticed it hadn't really made much progress, so I reached in to grab the egg and it was partially zipped with a dead chick in there!!! I think cause the humidity was low it got stuck, but I couldn't see the zipping because it was on the opposite side of my window on my cabinet bator...

...perfectly formed little chick!!

I left the rest of my eggs from NicoleRM's eggs in my LG that I used for hatching, just in case anybody is a late bloomer! I'll try to get pics today!!!

Well, mine have not hatched yet. I thought they were due on the 11th but those were my BBS Ameraucanas. I forgot I had them in there and thought it was these guys. Guess I have to many eggs in the bator

These eggs are due on the 15th, going into lockdown tonight!

Well, it does not look good for me doing Wheatens. Peachicks auction has gone over my limit

Can't justify over $100.00 on eggs that may or may not hatch.

I may have to go buy a couple Cream Legbars to feel better

Anyway, I LOVE the Lavenders so sticking with the original plan.

I just saw a listing my Madelynbelle for eggs, her stock is listed as Peachick and Pips&peeps - wheaten/blue wheaten.

There are some great breeders of Wheaten listed under the Breeder's Directory of the Ameraucana Breeder's Club website. Many sell eggs, chicks, and started birds out of show-winning stock for very reasonable prices. Check it out! You don't have to win an auction on this site to get good stock.

So what is the "original plan" pertaining to the lavenders? Inquiring minds want to know. Here are some of mine.

LOVE the pics, gorgeous birds! Lavender is my absolute favorite color in Ameraucanas and hopefully the color gets recognized soon. When I had the opportunity to purchase some of these silkied Ameraucauna eggs I just could not resist the thought of silkied lavs. My "original plan" was to breed the silkied gene into the Lavender color Ameraucana. I guess I got carried away imagining Wheatens also but I'm sticking with just the Lavs.

Thanks for the tip on the ABC site, I will go check it out

I've been chatting a bit with someone interested in making Fluffy Lavenders, Fluffy Wheatens, Fluffy Blue Wheatens, and Fluffy Lavender Wheatens. Feel free to read and jump in.
