Everything was fine..then comb explosion...I call it fluffy comb invasion around what 8 to 10 months? They just get a a thing I dunno...even the regular ams don't get it this bad...I am culling for it now...I get rid of boys that have the invasion. Lol.. Hey how many birds do you have now? We should do a swap or something...I have ended up with some niceeeee splashes ....yep girls. One is super sweet ( cringe) but I need adult blacks!!
Okay I got another egg today and a better picture. I set it in the shade, in a sand pile, next to a BR egg

I have a project started using my bantam hen, Pixie, and my Serama cockerel, Ace. My project is for chocolate and black, silkied bantam rumpless/tufted. Since they would not be eligible for any sort of Araucana label, I'm simply not calling them anything but a project at this time.I'm already doing ams...LF and I
Have bantams but not silkied...whatcha Thinking?
So Are you trying to find a place to send your culls? T sell them what exactly would you wanna do? I love the almost coming together look( Almost) of the little hen pixie...love the markings I think it way to much project for me and too many generations to put in...I'm having a hard enough time sticking to making my Lav silkied ams. You could call them "chocolate chips!"I have a project started using my bantam hen, Pixie, and my Serama cockerel, Ace. My project is for chocolate and black, silkied bantam rumpless/tufted. Since they would not be eligible for any sort of Araucana label, I'm simply not calling them anything but a project at this time. Pixie's breeding is bantam chocolate Orp/bantam Ameraucana rooster over my smaller but standard size black Araucana hens. She is chocolate, double tufted and rumpless with white skin/legs. Ace is American Serama. Coal black, no leakage, silked feathering. I know I'll have chicks I'll be culling. Those that I won't need will be the tailed ones with white skin. A clean faced, pea combed, silkied or silkied split with a tail would work well crossed to a bantam Ameraucana that is correct. There will still be culls, the ones with a straight comb will be sold as mixed breed pets. What I plan to keep are the ones with yellow skin, rumpless. Here is Pixie, she is molting and has a lot of her fresh chocolatey feathering back in but more to go. She lays a beautiful blue egg. The Serama's I've had laid a wide range of white to cream to light brown eggs so there may be some that lay a greenish tint to the blue eggs. but I've had good luck in correcting that in a season or two. I bought Ace so I'm going to have to check with his breeder to see what color his hens lay.I'm already doing ams...LF and I Have bantams but not silkied...whatcha Thinking? Here is Ace, Silkied Serama, no Silkied breed so no issues with blue legs, black skin, walnut comb etc. I have made the Araucana to Serama cross before and had absolutely no issues with correcting the wingset to a more horizontal carriage. The chicks matured to look pretty much like the Araucana, but very small. Ace weighs about 23 ounces.
