What's wrong with their feathers?

Oh poor girl! But HOW does one take a sabbatical? I have over two hundred to oversee....I guess you mean that she isn't selling or whatnot right now? Sorry don't mean to be dense...I genuinely hope she is well.
Glad to see people are continuing her efforts....hey do you have pics of a choc/ mauve baby? Or an adult, I don't think I've seen that and those are expressing the gene? ( awesome!) is the mauve a lav gene? Or a dilute? Can you explain that one to me that sounds supper cool...rats wish I had seen that and asked when chooks was around...we are working on lavs so are keeping blacks to cross with our lav ams non gene, girls somehow I thought she was working on chocolates...and read everything on this thread...musta spaced dunno :/ if you could enlighten me that would be great!
We currently have a pure am lav/ black pen straight from crystal creek and shaffer...so we have GREAT bloodlines to add into the fluffies but it IS going to take more than one generation no matter what we do...

For specifics as to what's going on with Renee.

Mauve Splash Candy's Mauve Chick A Mauve hen of Renee's

Mauve is a choc milk, lighter choc. What it is is the Bb/Blue or bb/splash presenting along together with the sex-linked cc/choc. Need BB/black to clarify and get choc choc. Mauve is like choc tips with blue base. I think it's very pretty and plan on doing both along with BBS silkied and BBS SQ Am lines to continue working toward SOP.

I just get lucky sometimes. I take a couple hundred pictures and get one or two worth sharing. Someone posted on BYC how to make a light box. I don't remember where I saw it, but it's easy, cheap, and makes great pictures. Especially when the chicks is photogenic and cooperating.

I have used a simple, cheap white styrofoam cooler on it's side for a photo box. It gives a soft glow of light through the styrofoam and I print a scene of some sort and tape it to the back and floor to give me pics like this little chocolate Serama chick. This was taken in the house, on a table and inside the box. The color is more natural and there isn't the glare of too much light.
