What's wrong with their feathers?

I finally had one of the silkie/ameraucana cross experiment chicks hatch. I have two more due next week.

This little chick is blue, and looks like a silkie chick. It has the five toes and feathered feet, black skin, etc. I can't wait to see how the feathers turn out in a few weeks.

I will post pictures this evening when I get home from work.

I'm still waiting patiently for pics of F1 crosses.

Black Am roo to the Splash Silkie Am pullets OR
Splash Silkie Am roo over a bunch of Black Am pullets.

Then the moment EVERYONE is waiting for... when you get a hatch from a cross of those F1 BLUES!!!!

OR what you get when you put a Silkied AM roo back over those F1 Blues.

I will be taking more pictures over the next couple of weeks as the feathers start coming out.

I candled the pullet egg I put in the incubator a few days ago, and can see development. I have a few more eggs to go in this week. So 1st generation is on its way!
