What's YOUR chickens' favorite treat?

Hard boiled eggs do not encourage them to eat their own eggs. It is good protein for them. Feeding them crushed egg SHELLS (instead of oyster shell) can encourage them to eat their own eggs.
hmmmm ... some of us have chickens that apparently haven't read that part of the "Chicken Operator's Manual". Lots of folks (myself included) feed chickens crushed egg shells - with nary a pecked egg in sight. whole shells, on the other hand, might seem to be a little too much like encouraging cannibalism.

We crush up egg shells as they're used, and toss 'em in with the rest of the compost, which the chickens scratch about in daily. Seems to me like a great way to recycle those minerals and nutrients - in the chicken, and in the compost.

X 2 the crushed egg shells will give them a lot of their important nutrients.

Is it bad if my 6 chickens won't eat worms? Also why isnt any one on this thread! I love hearing what diffrent foods chickens like to eat.

mine also don't seem interested in worms. when they were a few weeks old they loved them but now they just ignore them.

Their FAV treat so far is CHEESE, they go bonkers for cheese.

Grapes, cherry tomatoes, canned tuna, oatmeal, cottage cheese, pasta, bread, pizza crusts, liver, yogurt. They don't seem to care for carrots or apples. Lately they've been snubbing their oatmeal too. They love BOSS and scratch and dried pumpkin seeds. Don't seem to care about pumpkin though. When I made an attempt at a flock block with molasses and egg, they couldn't get enough!

Just introduced chickens to white rice with teriocky sauce on top, I was eating the rice when I thought they might want some. They loved it then hated it, the sauce made their beaks sticky and they didn't like that

. So note to anyone who has chickens, they didn't like sticky things on their beaks or at least mine didn't
