Whats Your Dreams?

My wife's family is from Ireland. Both of her parents are dead and she has always dreamed of going back to Ireland. A couple of years ago we did visit for a month and went to the town (Spiddal in Galway) where most of her family lived. We found relatives who had been living in the same houses for the past 200 years. The houses had straw roofs, peat stoves and some only spoke gaelic. It was a wonderful experience and we both agree that we could live in Ireland and be very happy.

I would like to be a small town veterinarian and own a small farm with some chickens, horses, and other various animals. Also, I want to move somewhere so I can finally adopt my favorite mollucan cockatoo from the rescue I worked for.

I have to finish this semester at college, then I hope to move forward with vet school. Some day I'll get there!

I've surpassed my dreams of younger days in many ways. I've met someone who makes me smile every time I think of them, and who I effect similarly. My husband has helped guide me to become a better person and shown me what true respect and trust is on a level that far exceeds an individual relationship, and has impacted my world view. ...Much better than what I was sure I was destined for in high school...a platonic, plodding relationship with someone not completely horrible. X) I've had many experiences good and bad that have helped increase understanding and have shaken me from a previously black and white world full of false security. I have had the chance and time to experience these things and start to shape my own life.

Now, my husband and I are in the long process of trying to save up enough money to buy some acreage. We would like it to be in an area where we can help keep plants and wildlife protected enough that they can continue to exist and grow. We would like to foster kids and teens, and hopefully provide them with an environment that will allow them to find growth and change within their lives.

I would like to see a culture emerge within my home country that is not so saturated with fear and all that comes with it. I would like to see a culture that reflects the values we claim to have more accurately.

Also, I want a freaking unicorn already! How many Christmas lists do I have to make?

250 or more acres in MO, 160 of it in pasture and hay, at the end of a dirt road, rotational grazing fence setup, automatic waterers or a creek in every pasture, and enough healthy cows, sheep, goats, hogs, turkeys, ducks, geese, chickens and guineas to make it productive enough that I don't have to have an outside job.

off grid, market garden, equipment I can use with my draft horses, and them having the training to do the job, enough tools and equipment to manage the animals. the right dogs, with the right training. cats.

a big enough tractor.

good barns, a really big shop. a house that doesn't leak. a yert, a teepee, a straw bale house, a log cabin, a hobbit house, and a vardo, all set up for friends to come and stay.

a full larder, two full root cellars (one wet, one dry). a full hay barn. a full ammo cabinet. an orchard. a pond with fish. a good deep well. a greenhouse with an aquaponics system and a wood pellet furnace for winter veges.

two good farm hands with their families, and homes for them on-property.

better knees. and a better thyroid.

a government that has regained it's senses.

a good friend who's a veterinarian.

and my sweet hubby.

Dreams, hey?

I have a lot of dreams.
I'd like to get the career of my dreams (still not tellin'
tongue2.gif
), the house of my dreams (somewhere in the city, perhaps one of those apartments where you can look over everything else)... maybe make some money on the stock market (although that might not be so easy anymore). Find a man who won't leave me hanging like most of the people I've cared about have. Maybe a kid or two.
Just life basically.
Oh, and I'd like to get some of the stuff I write published. SO not happening.
