I know I'm bias but I always loved the heavier, cold blood horses. Friesans, highlands, clydesdales, fjords, icelands... shetlands. All of them! (though I'd love an akhal theke as a pet!

No Cobb? im surprised, not too knowledgeable of cold bloods or European warm bloods, thanks for the enlightenment! they are certainly a robust looking breed.There is no cob in them though, they originate from a native Swedish breed.But I see what you mean!

I think that in the US and somewhat the UK "cob" or "cobb" is used to reference both a few breeds of horses and ponies as well as types of horses (but maybe I'm wrong!), but in scandinavia it isn't used unless we speak specifically about one of the cob breeds. Like a Welsh Cob or Irish Cob. Not to mention it's a specific size of bridle or headcollar.
most of those European breeds you mention Im vaguely familiar with, the cold bloods and warmbloods of Europe are in my mind used in refined equestrian disciplines like dressage and hunter jumpers, I can remember a seeing some cob horse plowing a plot of land and maybe pulling a hay wagon, but mostly see them pulling carts or wagons for hay rides in the holidays, thanks giving, Christmas things like that, I myself favor a more freeform less structured type of discipline like pleasure riding and trail riding, lots of Paso Fino's, Arabians, Quarter Horses, thoroughbred and SaddleBreds down here, lots of Pony crosses. It's pretty confusing.
Either way the cob type of horse and pony is a pretty recent thing in Scandinavia, on the whole.
Old native breeds of domestic animals are always fascinating to me.
