Whats your problem!?

It bothers me that people have issue with other people driving slow....

LOL, not so much that I'm late for work... I leave with plenty of time (allowing 1 hr) for people driving normal! It takes me 1/2 hr to get to work... but 45 min to an hour when I get stuck behind all the slow people out there. Not many places to pass legally and safely on my route (I take back roads).. what that means for me; I get cut 1/2 hr of OT pay for every time I don't get to work in the normal 1/2 hr!

I think it's rude and selfish to hold other people up from going the speed limit just cause a person decides to go slow. I don't have an issue with it if they want to go that slow, but they could pull over once in a while and don't speed up in the passing zones!

Also, in areas where it is hilly, don't get mad when someone suddenly appears on your tail! It can be just as dangerous to be going too slow as too fast.

And the comments about the sexes driving differences... I've seen alot of stupid women drivers true, but I've seen equally alot of testosterone driven, agressive men out there... But the worst drivers I've dealt with were foreign drivers not familar with the laws etc.. Some have too much sence of entitlement (I worked for a foreign co and had to supply vehicles for them, company paid BMWs, only to have them constantly wreck them)..

Men and women can both develop a sense of entitlement. When it comes to anger and road rage, psychologically, women are more impulsive and explosive while men will let it simmer until it boils.
Not allowing traffic to merge, cutting people off, tailgating, revving the engine, and being a rude driver doesn't have a lot of gender differences when it comes to who does what more often.

I let people merge into traffic because I would rather not risk an accident. I don't cut in front of people as soon as I can when passing, because again I don't want an accident. I do a lot of things that many drivers don't because I either know the odds of it causing an accident or I still have the driving laws fresh in my mind.
Honestly, I think people should take a refresher course of driver's education every 5 years, so that the comfy little habit of "I own the road, so get out of my way" can be squashed. People seem to forget the laws that go with the privilege of driving mere moments after they get their operators license.

Another thing that annoys me to the point of shouting insults at the driver in my car (a useless measure when you think about it) is rolling stops or just plain not stopping at the stop sign. Far too many times I have watched people roll right past the stop sign in a turn or slow down just in case there might be traffic then speeding off. I have even had people pull out while I'm going through the intersection. A stop at a stop sign, at least in Michigan, is having your vehicle at stopped completely for 2 seconds. 2 seconds isn't that much time, and it's a lot shorter than the hours you could spend at the scene of an accident because you were too impatient to obey a basic traffic law.

There are roads with minimum speeds, if you have issues with slow traffic then take those roads. The slow drivers are on the back roads because it is ok to drive slow there. I think being in a hurry an expecting other people to move for you is rude an selfish.

That mindset gets people killed. If you are driving to fast to slow down for slow moving traffic then you are driving way to fast to stop for me an my firetruck trying to save lives.....

Or how about a person on a bike or horse & buggy..... Its there road to.

It was right after an intersection, no passing areas indicated by those nice double yellow lines. The speed limit for the area I was in was 45, and that kid wasn't going to be traveling that fast, let alone pay attention to the large amount of traffic that could have easily hit and killed him. There was a very wide shoulder provided and a sidewalk he could have ridden on. People were pulling over into a lane with oncoming traffic to avoid the oblivious kid. Bicycles are considered a vehicle here so if I hit him it would have been treated like a car accident, even if he got seriously injured, not a car/pedestrian accident. Of course the end result would have been a large suit against me for his injuries because he couldn't be bothered to notice the traffic around him. No helmet, no mirrors on his bike, no protective padding or clothing, and no reflectors. He wasn't set to be riding on the road, especially a road with heavy traffic daily.
All the cyclists I have ever come across are aware of the traffic around them and have politely moved onto the shoulder to allow traffic to pass rather than impede the flow of traffic. LOL! My favorite thing to do to people who give the bird from their car is to put on surprised eyes and cover my mouth with my hand. They either crack up or shoot it a little higher. Either way, they look like the idiot, not me.

Yet he still has every right to do what he was doing an everyone else was breaking the law....

Why come down on me cause I want to go the speed limit?

I can see your point.. can't anyone see mine? I'm not a rude driver, I let people merge, I pass when legal, I don't cut people off and I don't flip people off... I follow the driving laws...I stop and help people if they need it... does that make me rude for wanting to drive the posted limit?

Too often the people I see going slow are driving distracted and not paying attention to what their doing. I like to drive and I like to get where I'm going! Most of the slow people up here are talking on their darn phones and not paying attention to their driving. Old people driving slow, I'm ok with that.

I cannot take other roads to work, it's not an option... I take the shortest, least gas consuming route.

PS.. I got taken to lunch in the big fire truck, by my Fire Dept for donating a Defib machine, that was cool! (I'm really not a horrible person)

A Nigerian friend mentioned that we Americans don't use our roads efficiently. We leave too much space between vehicles.

I often travel back roads to get to where I need to be, sometimes with deadlines on getting there. I sometimes get behind slow moving traffic, either other automobile drivers or farm vehicles. Sometimes there is roadwork or a utility company working beside the road and restricting traffic. One section is a favorite stretch for bicyclists, most of whom are very courteous. If I have a deadline to get somewhere, knowing the local conditions, it is my responsibility to leave on time to get there. If I am late, it is not the fault of the farmer taking his equipment to another field or someone enjoying the beautiful scenery. But then I am more into taking responsibility for myself than into entitlements. Of course, there are days like when there was the serious accident that totally blocked the road for a long time. Stuff happens.

I will occasionally beep my horn at someone who is obviously not paying attention, but I remember the guy in Houston who was stopped at a light and had a heart attack while sitting there. I'm glad I did not beep then.

Then there was the person at a 4-way stop last week that totally messed up the system by looking at a map while they were parked there. Once I realized what was going on, I eased across the intersection very carefully and went on my way. It would have done absolutely no good for me to beep my horn with that set-up, but that inconsiderate lump of humanity was inconveniencing a lot of people and putting them at risk. Sometimes I'd like to have a paintball system on the car that would allow us to mark certain cars so that when someone got a specific number of marks, they got a ticket for being an a*******.
