Can you tell me about the test birds? What are you testing for? Are they pulled from your main flock?...lol I guess this is 20 questions!


yes to slow growing hens and a roo picked from my main flock. the parrents were two origonal budy henery hens and origonal davis roo and i tested them with a yellow leg roo befor raising them they came up clean and decant looking and lay very dark . i am 98 % sure my hole flock is ok but theres always a chance
 
That makes sense! Well hopefully our brooders will be maxed out in three weeks :) My husband is even excited about this current batch of eggs. We have a very very small operation. Let us know how the test run goes!

yippeeee! Happy for you Debbi!. If what I've been reading over on the Marans thread is true that wheatens can be used for making silver salmons when crossed with cuckoos...I might be interested in wheatens myself haha Down the road that is...i've gotta get my pens all sorted out for building
