I have not heard that one before. I know bev got hers from here black tailed buffs or so she told us on the yahoo duckwing/salmon marans forum. I got mine from my blue's they had this recessive gene in them which through salmon chicks once in a while. Although since I have gotten rid of my blue male that carried that gene and just kept several silver and golden salmon hens I have since placed them in with my wheaten roo to bring out some more traits hopefully. I have a couple test hatchs coming up so we will see. Just remember Silver is doment and golden is recessive. Hens can only carry either the silver or the golden gene, were males can carry both. I have learned allot on that forum. preety intrested to see all the different color variations on them though.
yippeeee! Happy for you Debbi!. If what I've been reading over on the Marans thread is true that wheatens can be used for making silver salmons when crossed with cuckoos...I might be interested in wheatens myself haha Down the road that is...i've gotta get my pens all sorted out for building
