Hey Walt, while you are here. Is there any way possible that side sprigs or other odd comb formations, could be due to incubation problems?? I just can't believe I have been so, ahem, fortunate?, as to get all of these comb problems with so many different sources of eggs, and all but 6 birds from two different hatches had normal combs. What is up with that?? Has anything ever been studied that you know of on this? Could it be something like crooked toes caused by incubation, or is my luck just way worse than Murphy's??

Lots of things are blamed on the incubator, but in reality very few things are the incubators fault. I have hatched tens of thousands of birds may even more and the only thing I found is that an incubator can occasionaly cause leg problems, but you know it right away.

I can say with 100% certainty that incubation will not cause a side sprig. It is in the breeding somewhere and I know that many Marans have that problem at the moment. Sorry!

You might be able to get all four of them with one shot if the house wasn't there and you were back far enough with a shotgun.

I'm starting to run out of shotgun shells. my ar-10 would do the trick but that would go through brick wall
