Wheaten and Blue wheaten Marans Discussion Thread

I didn't mean the comb color, it's the way it sets on that one cockerel, great! Off the neck, and the blade ending by the back edge of the eye. See Don, I do listen to you!

Also, I was talking about the feather color in the hens. Do they start out more red like you have pictured, and lighten with age as the feathering comes in more?
 
gosh debbie you know so much! I only try to go for what I like but there's no method to the madness. yes the hens lighten up as they get older. in the light spotting in the chest go away but nowif it's real heavy spottin

Ha! I don't know squat! I am still very much in the learning process. Don and others have contributed to anything I may now know. Whatever your method is, keep it up!! Good to know with the hens coloring, thanks!
 
Case in point, I am still trying to figure out if this is a pullet or not. This chick is now 3.5 weeks old, hopefully, the color looks better in these pics? BYC is giving me fits this afternoon! Happy 4th everyone!!
