Out of 17 BCM eggs, I got 3 Wheatens. At least I assume that is what they are. I was hoping to sex them based on wing feather color, but at 17 days old they still have basically no color. Seems like the others I have seen have some black and/or fawn feathers by now. You can however see a distinct difference in the tail feathers on Chick #3. Any ideas or input??

Thanks. These came from BCM eggs that I purchased. I can only assume these are recessive whites, but I don't really know. Seems like a high percentage. Of 17 I got 3, but there was another that didn't survive hatching that was also white. So 4 out of 18.

Agreed. Definitely White and not Wheaton. And I suppose if the flock you got them from has been closed for a while that more and more of the breeding birds over the years would carry the recessive white gene thereby raising the probability of throwing chicks that carry two copies of the recessive white gene.
