Wheaten Maran, whatcha think?

It is 3 wks old today... I'm thinking girly. What do you all think?

Ahhhh.....which one is it? Can I see the comb up-close, please? 3 wks is a bit early to tell, though.

Comb is not the indicator here. The one in the foreground is a pullet. They can be sexed at two to three weeks from wing color at 100%

Not sure what the other one is

Cool! I did not know that about Marans. That also explains the overhead shot.

I won't know on most of the other 7 BCMS and Blue CMs for a few more weeks, except one blue Copper is def a male... Got a nice comb going and is already acting rooish. That is why I haven't posted an inquiry on them yet. I have a few guesses but too early on those colors to know for sure.

Thanks for the confirmation... I had been reading that you can tell earlier on the Wheatens than the Blacks and Blues... So was hoping I was right on this one.
Plan on keeping her, a BCM pullet, a Blue CM pullet and a Blue CM roo.

Then when they start to lay, will either share the wealth by giving the eggs for a shipping fee... or sell the eggs... haven't decided yet.
May only sell what will pay for feed for each month then give away the rest that we don't eat each month.

I hope yours lay better than mine. I love the egg color and nice quiet beautiful birds, but mine really are sporadic layers. Yeah I have no idea how to sex the BC other than comb size.
