Wheaten Roo or Pullet

Well this is a first. I’m actually crossing my fingers this chick is a rooster! I know he is a little young to be certain, but I thought I’d get people’s opinions.

First is the chicks feathers,

the second is a pullet’s feathers when she was around the same age.

If you're looking for a cockerel- those feathers look nice and dark!

At least for the Wheaten Marans in my current hatch, that yells male.

In fact, I had four cockerels and a single pullet and the difference between the tan/beige feathers and the dark wings/shoulders was really obvious at about the same age.

It's odd to say on here, but congrats- you have a cockerel!

Ha! I never even took photos of my cockerels- can't keep em, just grow them out until I can rehome them.

Luckily Wheaten Marans were easy to place!
