I had posted this little pullet in my other thread, but I'm really curious about what she might be, and what to breed her with to try and create more of her.

Here is a satin pullet that seems to be wheaten. The rooster was a blue satin and the hen was what I thought was a blue partridge. This same cross hatched out another satin that I think is a blue partridge as well. I'll post her for input on her color as well.

I bought their parents and this is the first year I've hatched, so I don't have a genetic history on them.

My questions:
- is she a wheaten?
- how did a blue x blue partridge make this
- what color silkie would lead to the most colorful results with her
- what color silkie could I cross her with to make more like her
- what color is her sister?

Gosh they're sure pretty.

Have you gotten an answer anywhere else yet? If not, I wonder if @NatJ, @MysteryChicken, or @moonshiner would have any insight at all via the genetic side of these?

I only have silkies, and with all of the varieties I have now, that's hard enough to keep up with, so I don't know how you do it! Fun stuff though!! ❤️

I think she is a Wheaten, she looks like all of the pictures from them that I've ever seen. I breed mille fleur and other colors of Silkies and satins. I think the Wheaten color originates in partridge although I am not super knowledgeable about it, I would breed her with one of my fully patterned mille fleurs to see what I would get. But 👌👏😍 WOW would I love to have her satin blue partridge mom!! She is absolutely 💯 gorgeous!

The blue partridge satin is her sister, the same age. The mom was silkie feathered, I don't think I have any good pictures of her, but she was really neat looking! Unfortunately I lost her about 2 months ago.

I'm excited to see what these two produce next year, but I have to figure out what color rooster to put them with 🤔 I'd love to make more of both! I am hoping the antigen shortage eases up so I can get my NPIP testing done, then I can share eggs!

She's Wheaten.
This girl of mine is too. Her parents were Porcelain D'uccle, & White Silkie.

These cases(Mine, & Your's), are probably the result of Recessive Wheaten. I don't have much experience with the recessive form, but have more experience with the Dominant Wheaten.

Wheaten is a separate mutation, it doesn't originate from partridge.

So, unless I accidently make a recessive wheaten cockerel, then I can't make more of these 🤔
