When are eggs safe to incubate/stops being a 'pullet/new' egg?

It's because of people such as yourself who like to incubate with a machine that many birds do not go broody. You have ruined them by destroying their natural abilities. It's so sad. :(
I let all of my hens go broody but when they don't go broody or for breeds I have that aren't broody themselves of course we incubate the eggs. And we breed and sell so in order to keep up with our list of people, we have to incubate. There is nothing wrong with this.

I can't understand why any hobbyist poultry keeper would want to incubate artificially.

It’s not sad. You are probably fortunate enough to have broodys, and if you don’t and you are still ok with it, than that’s your choice. I’ve had chickens for 8 years and never had a committed broody, and it’s nice to be able to have chicks. Its also a learning experience. How did you get your first chickens?

Not letting them go broody is not destroying natural abilities. It's been bread out of most birds to either grow faster for meat birds, or to lay longer and more as not to waist time brooding. All varieties are different. Has nothing to do with incubating or keeping them from going broody. Keeping a hen from going broody has nothing to do with natural abilities that can only be bread out of them.
Exactly ! Their natural abiities have been bred out of them. I'm glad we agree. LOL

I wonder why you have never had a commited broody, it's a complete mystery pmsl.

I stole my first chickens from a battery cage on a huge chicken egg laying factory.

Tell that to my hatchery birds that keep going broody. They still have natural abilities and people don't always want broodies, or like me, set clutches outside of typical hatching season (october Or november)
