When are the roos obvious?

I know most everyone here posts in hopes that they don't have roos. I, on the other hand, kee hoping that one is going to suddenly appear in my flock. I had two great rescue roos up until August and then they vanished while I was away. I live in a rural area and they were very determined to be rovers but it still broke my heart.

My girls are from a hatchery mix. They all seem pretty similar in size and development so I have no reason to think that there could be a boy lurking. But still I hope. At what point in their development would rooishness become clear? They are about 13 weeks old now.

So sad... No, I thik they are all girls. My husband is dead set against getting another rooster (light sleeper) but if one just happened to be a boy, well I would keep it.

If you can post pic's, it makes it much easier for people to argue over the sex of your chickens

Added: and besides, everyone likes to see pic's (except those dial up people)

Ah, but you see I AM a dialup person. I'd actually like nothing better than to send lots of pictures to be discussed at great length. This is my favorite part of BYC! Instead I'll have to say that there is nothing I can see so far that looks rooish (based on all the pictures all the rest of you have posted) and leave it at that. Just send me some hatchery sexing oops vibes and I'll keep telling Scruffy the Giant that she really would be happier as a boy.

Well, my hatchery-sexed girl Lulu is turning into a huge RooRoo. She's 9 weeks, but i've been watching those wattles grow for a couple weeks. So i can personally attest to the fact that hatcheries are not 100% accurate.

If you don't find a roo in your own group, why not slip one in when your husband's not looking?
