When can I take the chicks out of the incubator?

I am and teacher and I'm hatching chicks in an incubator in school. I had one chick hatch Sunday 27th March and I left it in to fluff up. Then I had 2 other chicks hatch yesterday Monday 28th. I now have 4 other eggs pip their shells. How long can the chicks stay in the incubator before I need to take them out to feed them? I don't want to open the incubator and risk the other eggs.

Chicks don't need to food for the first 2-3 days after hatching. It'll be okay if you very briefly open the incubator and remove the hatched chicks. They should be okay to be left in their for a while longer though. If you go ahead and remove them, make sure to check the humidity afterwards.

So I left them in just to let the other few hatch. I now have 6 hatched and one last one I can see it's beak and there's a big hole in the side. Is it still safe to take out the other chicks and just put water in for the hatching chick or should I just wait on that one? I will of course share so photos once I get them out! They are adorable

So the final chick hatched by itself in the incubator just there. I took the other chicks out because there was a little bit of blood and they were trying to peck at a little bloody sac that was hanging from the newly hatched chick. I am leaving the newly hatched chick in the incubator now. Is the little sac the yolk not fully absorbed? Will the chick die? This is a picture of the thing attached to it. I have never seen that before on a chick and not sure what it is.

It looks like it did not fully absorb the yolk. Since the yolk is small, it should finish absorbing on its own but you may need to cut it if it does not. Leave it in the incubator for a few hours to see if it will absorbed or fall off.

Ok! This is positive! I was hoping this would be the case. I have put her into a little dish in tissue paper to keep her from stepping on it. I will check back in on her in a few hours. Hopefully it will be absorbed!
